COLLEGE CHRONICLES: 003

August 24th, 2017. This day, I had mandatory information sessions related to my major, Fashion Business Management, that really shouldn't have been mandatory. I didn't get much from them. The majority of the session was a video that was showing alumni success. This is a great thing to show, but only when its recent. The alumni's testimonies had to have been filmed in at least 2010, based on the quality, and fashion and makeup trends. After this, I went back up to my room, changed and pulled myself together for the night. I went and met up with Emma, and we headed to Brooklyn. Once in Brooklyn, we went and grabbed some Mexican food for dinner, I had a chicken chimichanga. We had decided to attend The Light Leaks event entitled Lens Flare. Lens Flare was "a showcase to celebrate the work of female and gender non-conforming filmmakers." Emma and I went to support Lauren Tepfer, one of the artists we are exhibiting work from in out exhibition Sonder. We were wrong about the time of doors for the event so we spent an hour or so hanging up posters for Sonder around the area of the event. I definitely enjoyed my time at Lens Flare. When I got back to my dorm, I'm pretty sure I just fell asleep.

Friday, August 25th, was a busy day. I met up with Emma around 12:30pm, and we head out to Ikea to buy frames for all of the work for Sonder. Unfortunately, Ikea didn't have all of the sizes that we needed, but at the same time, if they had them all they wouldn't have fit in the car, so maybe it was a good thing. After unloading all of the frames, Emma and I walked to Michael's to get the rest. After an afternoon of buying picture frames, we went back to Emma's and made a collage for a contest Sizzy Rocket was doing.

Saturday, August 26th, I didn't do much. The dining hall hours are weird on the weekends, so I ended up missing both lunch and dinner. But, I did go up to Penn Station to stop into the Magnolia Bakery to get some banana pudding. Other than that, I did my makeup, changed my outfit three times and took a nap. Saturday night, I did meet up with Emma and Suzy and we went to Baskin Robbins. Who knew I would have to go through nearly every ice cream flavor before there was one that they had, or had enough of, to make a milkshake. I ended up getting cookie dough. If I have one piece of advice for anyone reading this, it's don't get a cookie dough milkshake. The cookie dough got stuck in the straw, and the texture made me nauseous. This really ended my night, and I went to sleep.
